When the AAF Buffalo chapter approached us to help reimagine their annual American Advertising Awards (AAA), we partnered with dPost to craft a night that would leave a lasting impression. The result was Camp Wannawinanaddy, a camp-themed celebration that combined humor, nostalgia, and creativity to deliver an unforgettable experience. From the initial concept to the final applause, every element of the event was designed to reflect the spirit of camaraderie and innovation within the advertising community.
The name and theme, Camp Wannawinanaddy, set the tone for the evening, blending playful nostalgia with a touch of whimsy. We developed a cohesive visual identity that captured the outdoorsy, campfire vibe through logos, graphics, and a vibrant color palette. This identity became the foundation for all event materials, including a custom website, social media assets, posters, and email templates that built excitement in the weeks leading up to the event.
On the night of the awards, attendees were fully immersed in the camp experience. The set design featured faux campfires, rustic signage, and outdoor-inspired staging, creating an atmosphere that was both fun and engaging. The show reel, designed with a blend of storytelling, humor, and motion graphics, added an extra layer of entertainment, making the ceremony as memorable as the theme itself. Even the awards themselves embraced the camp concept, turning trophies into keepsakes that recipients proudly displayed.
